Merqury Cybersecurity Limited was founded in 2022 by Professor André Xuereb, one of Europe’s foremost quantum physicists. Recognising that quantum computing posed a direct and imminent threat to classical encryption methods, Merqury was established to bridge the gap between cutting-edge quantum research and real-world cybersecurity needs. The company’s mission from the outset has been to make quantum-safe communication practical, deployable, and standards-compliant - not just in labs, but across sectors like government, finance, telecommunications, and healthcare.
Quantum threats are no longer theoretical. Sensitive data is already being harvested under “store now, decrypt later” strategies, and global institutions such as NIST, the NSA, and the European Commission have issued clear warnings.
